Windows Phone

The smartphone, or data phone, is fast becoming the common phone for just about anyone around the world. Windows Phone is one of the several types of operating systems found on smartphones, developed by Microsoft. It is the successor to the Windows Mobile operating system and targets the consumer market, unlike Windows Mobile, which targeted the business market.

Windows Phone was first released in the second half of 2010 in Europe, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada, Mexico, and later released in Asia in early 2011. The first phones to use Windows Phone were made by HTC, Dell, Samsung and LG and began selling on October 21, 2010.
